DAILY SCRIPTURE STUDY · DAY 87 OF 365
True and false voices
Read Deuteronomy 18:20–22Deuteronomy warns against presuming to speak in God's name and identifies an unfulfilled prediction as something the Lord has not spoken. This is a serious warning about claiming divine authority. Read it in its covenant setting rather than importing Israel's civil penalty into church practice. In present ministry, truthful accountability includes acknowledging a failed claim rather than revising the story to protect the speaker.
Put the Word into practice
If you have attributed your own certainty to God, correct the claim plainly and seek accountable counsel.
