DAILY SCRIPTURE STUDY · DAY 73 OF 365

Speak with care

Read James 1:19–20

James calls believers to be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger because human anger does not produce God's righteousness. Marriage is one place to practice that instruction. Hearing fully can interrupt a cycle of accusation and defense before it becomes another familiar argument.

Put the Word into practice

In your next disagreement, restate what you heard before explaining your own perspective.

What reason does James give for being slow to anger?

A prayerful response
