DAILY SCRIPTURE STUDY · DAY 54 OF 365
Do not provoke
Read Ephesians 6:1–4Paul addresses children's obedience and parents' responsibility together. Fathers are told not to provoke their children but to raise them in the Lord's discipline and instruction. Correction must serve formation, not a parent's desire to release frustration. Authority becomes faithful when it teaches and cares.
Put the Word into practice
Give one needed correction calmly, explaining its purpose and listening to the child's response.
Search the Scripture
How do Paul's instructions limit the way parental authority is exercised?
A prayerful response
Father, give me patience to guide children without humiliating or provoking them. Amen.
