DAILY SCRIPTURE STUDY · DAY 365 OF 365

Victory That Becomes Worship

Read Revelation 15

The people who have overcome the beast stand beside a fiery sea of glass with harps from God. Yet their song does not celebrate their own strength. It magnifies God’s works, justice, truth, and holiness. That movement from victory to worship is the chapter’s central invitation: deliverance is an occasion to honor the Deliverer, not to build a monument to ourselves. The song bears the names of Moses and the Lamb, while its attention rests on the Lord as King of the nations. For John’s hearers, this vision presented overcoming as belonging to a worshiping people rather than becoming powerful on the beast’s terms. Their praise also prepares readers for the bowls of wrath that follow. God’s judgment is framed by his righteous character, not by human vindictiveness. Today, this scene teaches us to celebrate faithfulness with reverence and to leave final judgment in God’s holy hands.

Put the Word into practice

Turn one recent instance of resisting compromise into a written prayer of praise, naming what it reveals about God’s faithfulness rather than congratulating yourself.

What does the content of the conquerors’ song reveal about how they understand their victory over the beast?

A prayerful response

Holy God, let every victory draw my attention back to you. Replace pride with gratitude and resentment with trust in your righteous judgment. Make my worship truthful, reverent, and centered on your goodness. Amen.
