DAILY SCRIPTURE STUDY · DAY 362 OF 365
Victory That Holds to Jesus
Read Revelation 12Revelation 12 describes victory over the accuser in a way that overturns ordinary ideas of winning. The brothers overcome because of the Lamb’s blood and their testimony, yet their faithfulness can extend all the way to death. Their victory is therefore not a promise that believers will escape every attack. Its foundation is the Lamb’s blood, and its expression is allegiance that refuses to abandon him under pressure. The chapter later identifies the dragon’s targets as those who keep God’s commandments and hold Jesus’ testimony. For John’s readers, the heavenly announcement explains why fierce opposition does not prove that Satan has ultimate authority. He has been cast down and acts in rage, while God’s people belong to Christ. Present-day believers can resist accusation without pretending conflict is unreal: our confidence rests in the Lamb, and our calling is obedient, enduring testimony.
Put the Word into practice
Write a brief testimony centered on what Jesus has done rather than on your own strength, and share it with a trusted believer as an expression of continued allegiance to him.

How does the inclusion of faithfulness even to death change your understanding of what it means to overcome the accuser?
A prayerful response
Lord Jesus, anchor my confidence in your saving blood rather than in my ability to appear strong. When accusation or opposition comes, help me hold to your testimony and obey God faithfully. Make my loyalty deeper than my desire for comfort.
