DAILY SCRIPTURE STUDY · DAY 260 OF 365
Work That Death Cannot Empty
Read 1 Corinthians 15Paul ends his teaching about resurrection with a command to keep working for the Lord. That connection matters. Some Corinthians were denying the resurrection of the dead, and Paul shows how deeply that denial undermines Christian hope. But Christ has been raised, and those who belong to him will be raised at his coming. Death remains an enemy, yet it will not remain victorious. Because God gives victory through Jesus, faithful labor has a future that death cannot erase. Paul is not promising that every task will produce visible success now. He is grounding perseverance in what God will finally do with mortal bodies and death itself. For believers who feel their service is easily forgotten, the chapter supplies more than encouragement to try harder. Resurrection makes steadfast service reasonable: work done in the Lord is not empty.
Put the Word into practice
Return this week to one neglected responsibility in serving the Lord, deliberately grounding your perseverance in Christ's resurrection rather than immediate recognition or results.

Why does Paul make steadfast work in verse 58 the conclusion of his teaching about the resurrection?
A prayerful response
Risen Lord Jesus, thank you that death will not have the final word. Steady me when service feels fruitless, and renew my willingness to labor because your victory gives lasting meaning to faithfulness. Amen.
