DAILY SCRIPTURE STUDY · DAY 251 OF 365
Your Body Belongs to the Lord
Read 1 Corinthians 6Paul answers sexual immorality by explaining whose the believer's body is. The Corinthians must not treat bodily conduct as spiritually insignificant. Their bodies belong to the Lord, will be raised by God's power, and are members of Christ. Sexual union therefore cannot be reduced to the satisfaction of an appetite; it involves the person who already belongs to Jesus. Paul then adds that the believer's body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, received from God. This indwelling is a gift that calls for holiness, not permission to do whatever desire suggests. Being bought with a price means freedom is no longer defined by unrestricted self-ownership. For believers today, honoring God includes concrete bodily choices. Paul's command to flee sexual immorality is not contempt for the body but recognition of its profound dignity and its belonging to Christ.

A prayerful response
Lord Jesus, help me remember that my body belongs to you. Holy Spirit, strengthen me to turn away from sexual sin and to honor your presence through my choices. Teach me to receive your claim on my life with gratitude.
