Jesus and compassion

Matthew presents Jesus teaching, proclaiming the kingdom, and healing disease and sickness. His power is joined to compassion: He sees harassed people as sheep without a shepherd. We can bring suffering to Him with expectation. The passage also calls us beyond spectatorship: Jesus tells His disciples to ask the Lord of the harvest for workers.
