DAILY SCRIPTURE STUDY · DAY 189 OF 365

Jesus Finds the Rejected Man

Read John 9

The man’s journey in John 9 does not end when his eyes are opened. Under repeated questioning, he tells what happened and refuses to deny the evidence of Jesus’ work. His parents fear exclusion from the synagogue, and the authorities eventually throw him out. Then Jesus finds him. That movement matters: the man rejected for defending Jesus is not forgotten by Jesus. Physical sight leads into a deeper encounter as Jesus identifies himself as the Son of God, and the man responds with faith and worship. The miracle is real, but its significance reaches beyond restored eyesight to the identity of the healer. The chapter invites us to welcome Jesus’ healing power while recognizing that knowing and worshiping him is central. It also shows that admitting what we do not yet understand can leave us more teachable than confidently refusing what Jesus reveals.

Put the Word into practice

Write a brief account of something you can honestly testify Jesus has done, distinguishing what you know from what you do not understand. Practice sharing it without exaggeration or apologizing for your faith.

Search the Scripture

How does the man’s willingness to learn from Jesus contrast with the authorities’ certainty that they already see?

A prayerful response

Lord Jesus, thank you for seeing people others dismiss. Give me courage to speak truthfully about your work and humility to keep learning who you are. Let every experience of your goodness lead me into deeper faith and worship.
