DAILY SCRIPTURE STUDY · DAY 103 OF 365

Jesus in Gethsemane

Read Luke 22:39–46

In Gethsemane, Jesus tells the disciples to pray that they do not enter temptation. He brings His own anguish to the Father and submits His will. Luke also describes strengthening from heaven. Surrender is not the absence of earnest prayer; Jesus prays intensely while yielding to the Father. Bring your struggle honestly and remain watchful.

Put the Word into practice

Pray about a costly act of obedience and ask for strength to resist the temptation to avoid it.
